James Carter is an Executive Director of O'Connell Advisory and leads the firm's aged care practice. He is one of Australia's most experienced aged care executives and advisors, bringing more than three decades of leadership across aged care, retirement living, governance, finance and organisational transformation.  

A former CEO, CFO and executive leader, James has led some of the sector's most challenging performance improvement, recovery and redevelopment initiatives. His experience spans community-owned, faith-based, private and not-for-profit providers, giving him a deep understanding of the strategic, operational and financial realities facing aged care organisations.

James is widely recognised for helping providers navigate periods of significant change.
